I know a little about ignition and fail to see how moving the point of ignition away from the centre of the combustion chamber is going to result in better flame propegation and I for one am very interested to read your theories on this.
Electrode shrouding is done for a few reasons, and all to my knowledge are to do with reliability at high engine speeds and power, not quality of burn, as the plug electrode wants to be as near to the propegation Kernel as possible in order to maximise energy release and thus efficiency from the fuel available in that cycle.
