Some guy from a band in the 30;s may have done it but who is aware of that.
Jackson brought the moves to the forfront and people now associate these moves with him.

Not talking about the 30s, them moves are just part of popping and locking, which was popular from the 70s onwards. And everyones seen that.
But they were just sidesteps and backsteps.
Then Jacko called it the Moonwalk, and as he famous the name stuck.
