i agree with you dan. those who say that cars are computerised and nothing can be done with them simply don't understand them and/or have the right tools. OBD scanners are cheap as chips these days, and are often a much cheaper and easier way of diagnosing faults than swapping out parts which is how many people view current classic cars.

classic cars came about imo because some were built to last with a high level of craftsmanship, and that doesn't happen much today. you still have the modern classics like mk1 escort or whatever, but they are only deemed classics as people have fond memories of them from their youth, rather than them being really good cars.

it will certainly be interesting to see how things go, but i can't see many modern cars being held in high esteem in the future, and even if they are they will be prohibitively expensive to run
