In 40-50 years time, when cars are powered by refuse (I've seen Back to the Future, so I know what happens) we will look back on these 'technical' cars and laugh at how simplistic they were. We'll look back at cars from now (which are in essence no different to cars from the 1960s) and be amused at how we thought it was all state of the art.

Classics are always relative to what is around at the time, so choosing what will be a future classic kinda depends on what happens in the future!
