it will either keep for a very long time, or it won't last long at all. all depends on the cork. some say that they should either always be stored upright, or horizontal, or should not go upright after being stored horizontal, or vice versa. but think about how they transport it, it always seems to be vertical in boxes and on the shop shelves.
