As title peeps....
Stumbled across an American forum where they were on about mainly Pre compressor throttles on 80's F1 cars. I know renault di this with the Group B 5 Maxi too.
One fella was on about how he'd put the throttle body before the inlet to his turbo (I suppose like a draw through carb installation) and how responsive it made the engine as there was no need to run a dump valve because between gear changes the compressor wheel would be spinning unloaded in a vacuum (throttle shut) thus keeping its speed up ready for when you get back on the throttle, and no need to dump any compressed air.

Any thoughts? could you do this with say a T34 turbo or would the vac suck oil past the seat and into the inlet?
