The only "issue " if you dont use one in a 2wd housing is it runs cooler for longer ! i made the mistake of running without when i changed over to a 4wd system , cooked it in 3 laps , the water by passes the engine ! You have to weld up the back hole if you dont want to use the stat , cheaper to just buy a stat tho even tho theyre £40 now
