id say its not aligned properly, the grease will work temporarily, as will replacing the belt.

just check everything that it revolves around to ensure everything is tight, it would only need one bolt to be the slightest bit loose and something wont sit quite so square to what it should be.

i definatly wouldnt say the belt is to tight as its on a sprung loaded tensioner.
