so i looked on the orange broadband forum, turns out that orange have changed some stuff at their end lately which is causing problems.
i did a firmware update on the livebox, and rebooted it after the update (essential you do so after an update)
logged into the livebox admin bit, changed the firewall to high, twiddled some other settings (i forget now) but touchwood its been fine ever since.
turns out it was dropping the connection bang on 8 - 9 minutes before, all day until 9pm.
The service for me using the ADSL modem is spot on BUT i will agree they are useless if you ask them anything that resembles a technical question, they blab out the same answers like a robot
