Hi
By rs1800 has started playing up recently in wet weather. When starting in wet weather its rough as a dog occasionally misfiring and sometimes stalling when you nail the throttle in an attempt to force it throught the rough patch.
Initially i reckoned it to be the MAF sensor playing up and i replaced it with a new one i had spare which totally cured the problem.
Except its come back again after 2000 trouble free miles!!!

Exactly same symptoms and problem started as soon as it was wet.
My engine is fed by an in engine bay cone filter unshrouded (i didnt fit it) and is a basic 2.0 zetec conversion with magnex exhaust system (and sports cat).
Its had plugs, leads, coil pack, and hego all in last 6 months as well as the maf i changed.
The only theory i can come up with is maybe excess spray in engine bay meaning a wet filter and lots of water vapour into the engine screwing up MAF sensor readings. The filter is under the RS bonnet vent so may get wet when stationary explaining the fact the running problems from start up rather than just road spray.
Any body experienced this?? is my theory in the right ball park??
