my sister had this, her corsa was written off by the insurance company, they offered her 1200 for the car (she only bought it for 1k a year ealier).

Basically, she kept the car, was still insured with them, they simply gave her the 1200 that was classed as as much as they would offer towards repair bills.

She drove it for another few months and sold it for 350 notes, so in the end got 1550 for it!! There may have been a 100 excess IIRC.

speak to your insurance and do a deal with them, as said, better to pay you an amount that you can either use to repair or replace, than have to remove you car etc etc.
