Depends what condition paint you're starting with.
Is a minefield!
For best shine you need clayed and corrected paint, and good quality wax or sealant, with a gloss enhancing polish beforehand.
Can spend all the money you want on LSP (last stage product) but wasting your money if surface it's applied to isn't 100% clean and of decent correction level.
