I'd suggest you give Poorboys Natty's Paste Wax (normal for light cars, blue for medium and dark cars) on top of Collonite a try

That's not "hardcore bufty" territory, but will give you much better results than the run-of-the-mill stuff

You could just use the Poorboys and see how you get on as it's a really good shine, but not very long-lasting. The Collonite, however, is very durable, but not such a nice shine. You can combine the 2
