Yes, the calipers require more fluid movement than the old cylinders. Try fitting a bigger diameter master cylinder.
One small thing though. Are the rear pads/discs fully bedded in yet. Might be worth living with the pedal for a while see if after 200m or so it gets much better. And check all your vac lines just in case.
