richm,
I've used both, the ATB is much more civilised for the road - no snatching, banging etc when the preload breaks away, and no need for continual dismantling to maintain a constant preload as the plates wear.
youmust have had a rough diff then m8 , yes i will agree there is a certain amount extra noise from these units at low speed cornering , but unless the preload is massive then for road use the noise will be more than acceptable !! and i never had to replace the plates in mine yet !!
