T34 .48 or .63 housing,advise needed.
Ok i have a 2wd cos with a standard bottom end 205 block wire rung, 2wd head that has been overhauled (apart from followers) & Grp A h/gasket, the engine is in perfect condtion, doesn't smoke whatsoever & uses hardly any oil (about a litre between oil changes 4k miles). Currently running 803's,-31,3bar,bayjoo chip supplied & setup by MA developments last summer, still running standard turbo T3 about 1.3- 1.5 bar (21psi ish). Only made 288bhp & 294 lbs at Eng Advantages last year, was a bit disappointed as i hoped to hit a magic 300bhp but never the less it has been very reliable & gets thrashed. Since this i have changed from a 4x4 i/c to a Radtec 500 i/c, next mod is to get a bigger turbo but there seem to be a fair few T34's for sale with the .63 housing secondhand, don't seem to see many with .48 housing secondhand. I can't justify spending £650 on a new one at the mo. With my engine as it is being standard head & block i am never going to get more than 330 -340bhp so would it be better for me to wait & try and find a T34 with a .48 housing for sale as i wouldn't benifit from the .63 because i'm not going for megga power. The last thing i want is a laggy motor because at the min it spins up really nice but I'd rather go for a T34 to get that bit extra. Any advise appreciated.
Cheers Simon.
