Great story mate I reckon that the fuel sender has gone (again if they actually bothered to fix it when they said they did) and it has ran out of derv with 1/4 tank left on the guage.

It's weird, most times it cuts out the glowplug light comes on then a second or two later it missfires then it's gone!!!
