My old man has an 02 plate 5 series (which I drive more than him I think ), 40k's worth of kit and the bag of wank is in for repair every bloody week!! I was just driving down the road and it cut out pulling into my (steep) drive, and believe me it's not even worth thinking of pushing an 1800kg car!

People say old Fords are unreliable, but this has been in and out of the garage for the last 2 months as it keeps cutting out!!! (Having changed 2 fuel pumps and god knows what else) It's had about 3 new headlights from leaking and breaking (and another one has just filled up tonight..), the 18" optional alloys corroded away after 1 year, switches fall apart, the seat collapsed (and neither of us are heavy!), it runs out of fuel when it's on 1/4 of a tank (150 miles left on the trip), the speedo is 12% out from the GPS.. need I go on?!!

Oh and the dealership who replaced the alloys fitted one of the 10" wide alloys on the front and a 9" on the rear, but managed to get the tyres the right way round So the mechanics don't have a clue either!

We've had it from new and it's never been in a crash or anything to make any untoward gremlins!!!

Rant over, never buy a BMW!
