Fuzzy, not arguing with you lol - I just pointed out after someone said the other chap was wrong, that he wasn't.
Obviously they put the site online
knowing people would use it to check if other people are insured (if that gets uninsured drivers off our roads, then it's no bad thing) - that doesn't change the legal side of things in any way.
Also, for private insurance customers, the insurance agent/company are legally responsible for updating the database - not all insurance companies are very effective at doing this in the required timeframe, which could lead to unecessary difficulties if you're stopped by the police...
