If you want a Will, you want it to be right - not something a smarmy lawyer can get thrown aside.
We won our Will writing at a charity auction. It cost something like £39 which was a real bargain as it bought two appointments with the Solicitor: first was an hour or so to talk about our wishes, and second was 30 minutes to go over the documents and sign.
She asked questions we hadn't considered (who gets the kids? What if something happens to those people before we die? What age do the kids get the money? What happens to the house if one kid wants to stay and the other wants to sell?)
I don't know if these things would have been covered in the WH Smiths pack, but it doesn't cover Scots law anyway so they were wasting peoples time and money selling them up here in the first place!
