do the escorts have differences in the wiring for the main speedo/rev counter assembly, or is there differences in the models within the actual assembly?

what im curious about is that a set of clocks were removed from my car, they worked faultlesly and perfectly with no blotches etc.
they were then wrapped in bubble wrap and kept safe until handed to a purchaser a littlw while later.

Curious twist is ive just recieved a text today from the guy claiming he wants his money back as they dont light up and the rev counter doesnt work!!


At this point no names mentioned incase there is a difference and to avoid making this a petty post, but in all honesty i know they woked perfect up until the second they were removed from my car so i dont know what to do - i certainly dont want them back if the guy has broken or damaged something while trying to fit them.

any input, opinions or clarification on spec's would be a help as really dont want to come across as a coont to this guy if its genuine, but dont want to be stuck with faulty goods if hes damaged them
