We all used to do at least 5-6 hours extra a week and they werent happy with that.

When i took over, i just used to go round everyone and 'ask' them if they wanted to work overtime and what day and time would suit them the best if they wanted it. If they didnt want to or couldnt be arsed then fair enough, its their choice and i respected that. They told me straight one way or the other. It was nothing to do with me what they were doing or why they didnt want to. As it happened many people actually wanted too then, as i sorted out a better overtime rate and showed them i was greatful, also very often giving them a slightly 'easier' day, so everyone was happy then.

Respect works both ways, and will benefit everyone in the long run. Its a shame that many bosses just dont seem to grasp this fact!!!

Sounds great, i wish thats how my boss saw things

If he wasnt such a prat i may want to spend more time in his company and actually do the over time

I thought fck it just a minute ago and rang him to say ill come in, its only 4 hours i can cope with that plus i dont want to do anything to make him be even more of a cunt, then im off for two weeks

If he dare asks me to come in the weekend ill tell him im seeing my sister in wales for the weekend

If he wants to act like a cunt then ill make up excuses rather than being honest as the guy said above respect works both ways, i dont see why that should change between a worker and a boss
