This could all be bollox, but I got told that Nissan UK have allowed a few companies to register these cars as demonstrators only. But have said that they will take whoever imports, registers & sells one of these Jap-Spec cars to court.

Not all bollox.
Nissan UK allowing companies to register GTRs is bollox and even Middlehursts import demo car is not kept in the showroom but tucked away in a lockup behind the service bay for viewing only (its not being road registered).
Nissan have threatened certain exporters/brokers/importers with legal action but they are cool with personal imports ie; the car is imported by and in the name of the eventual registered owner. I have verbally been assured that Nissan will honour the guarantee/warrenty on personally imported GTRs by 3 different sources (Nissan UK and 2 dealer principles) but I am waiting on written confirmation of this.
