Default Rumour on 4x4 road tax

A couple of the girls at work last night told me that they were wanting to put road tax up on 4x4 vehicles to £2,000 a year in the next budget.

Personally I think it's a load of piffle..... I know they've said it was going up to £400 on post 2001 vehicles at some point, but there is no way on earth, in my opinion, that they could possibly charge that amount of money to run a vehicle on the road.

I said that if they had heard about a £2,000 tax, then it may be slammed on a new vehicle at purchase, but there was no way it could be a yearly tax.

They were both adamant that they'd heard about this tax in the media.

They are talking shit aren't they?!!!
