I can see Dave's point. I remember the first time I saw his Escos down Sutton highstreet years ago. It was a car that got so much attention, it was just so in your face and clean that people could't say a bad word about it. Especially when it was driven in anger. Ive not seen it since but from what's going on with his current build his car is set to be something very special indeed.

However my view on Evo versus Cosworth... What is better?

Well that's the main question... and I think nobody will be able to answer that.

Mitsi Evolutions are imense cars, precision factory built, each one the same, each one designed to fit a purpose, handle well and go quick. But that's the thing, that's where it stops. Sure you can refine an Evo with after market parts, more boost etc. But what will happen is after 2 years of owning your Evo the 'next' model will come out, which claims to be even better than the previous. Great, but it will only depreciate the current model as everyone will want to be shelling out £££££'s for the new version... And then the modifying begins all over again... great if you have the money, but what if you don't? - will you get bored of your current car and want to upgrade in fear of missing out on natural 'Evolution'

Cosworths... Well they are antiquated classics, they are old, they are rusty (some of them), they have been abused, they cause greif, they cause heart ache. So the question is why do people STILL buy them over an Evo - or an even better question is why do people go back to them after owning an Evo?

Simple answer really, owning a Cosworth isnt about the driving experience, it's about the passion and the commitment. That is the main reason this site was created. An Escort Cosworth is an old car, it WILL never get younger. There will never be anything like to replace it. It will always be a unique and special car. This has alot of appeal to many drivers and entusiasts, as your not driving a factory clone, but a car that has been lovingly built, cared for and totally unique, and a one of a kind. If anyone here owns an Escos and if was written off, im sure they would find it very hard to find a replacement. This has the appeal to many people. The car isnt about driving, it's actually a part of the person who owns it. when it breaks you curse it, but then you look back on the good days when it's working like a charm and think... this is what owning a cossie is about.

Even though an Evo is superiror I am still looking for a cosworth, because my passion for cars will see me get the most enjoyment out of a car I can actually work on live with, and apprecaiate. This is something that all modern cars lack.

It's just not all about driving the car IMO.
