Insurance companies, SHOCKING
Right my brother has passed his test today, and he bought my escort gti off me as his first car.
Ive had a few quotes for him but one of his mates works for swinton, and told him that because he is a chef they class them as a lot more likely to drink and drive, therefore making his insurance considerably higher. He said if possible to not put occupation as a chef and as something else within his industry ie baker, cook etc, which isnt technically totally lying.
So ive just done him another quote as a Baker instead of Chef and its came back £500 cheaper, making it £1100!
Its no wonder insurance companies make so much! The best thing is his flat is 20mtrs from his restaurant so its not as if hes ever gonna drive :lol
Now my question is how do they know what your occupation is anyway? theres no proof asked of what your job is, so surely you can say what you want as you dont need to prove it if you have an accident or claim etc?
