it looks better on the website than in real life. it's not that it's dirty or anything, just could do with a bit of decorating. still worth staying there for the views though - the rotating platform on the top floor is cool

on koh samui we stayed in a small place called lolita bungalows at mae nam. beautiful, but not luxurious. our bungalows were beachfront with a/c, but quite basic. didn't need any more though

from koh samui you can get a speedboat tour of the ang thong national park area of islands - well worth doing

i would avoid the big places like chaweng and lamai as they're like southend or magalluf or wherever else has been ruined by seafront tat
