Yes you understand correct Tab, the aux shaft does seem to have a hole all the way through for oil to escape from, as the bolt is a non standard item in think the thread is just not big enough, it seems to wind on fine but there is too much movement there for it to seal correctly. I will get a standard bolt and use some gasket sealer job done I hope..
I will change the crank seal now anyway as I have it out now
