Ive had enough of cars now. I give in.
Just been out tonight, up chester-le-street for the locals, for a mooch about as I was bored. Nowhere in particular to go when I find myself............... in some trees.
Now I know Im gonna get all the "you were obviously dring like a tit" comments which I expect. But I genuinely wasnt, was in a mood for just dotting about at a steady away pace. Was on an A road, national speed limit, doing around 50 and came onto a sweeping bend which woulndt have posed a problem. Except it was frosty as fook and the car just kept goin forward. I dabbed the brakes and nipped the handbrake to try and change the direction but it just set the car sideways instead, heading toward the trees. I remember saying out loud to myself "this is gonna hurt".
Away up into the trees sideways the front corner dug into the grass followed by the back which sent me up on 2 wheels and branches came through the rear door window showering me with glass and slapping me round the head.
A bloke was coming the opposite way towards the bend and saw it all, he almost fell over on the ice as he dove out of his car.

Had he been 15 seconds earier Id have took him with me. He then told me that said road and bend were locally notorious for the same incident in bad weather, he has done it twice previous himself. Good bloke and he hung around with me till I got going again, Ill buy him a pint if I ever see him out on the piss.
I was amazed when it drove out of the trees!! I limped it off the bend and put the spare on, as the front tyre was off the rim, then drove it home slowly. 15 miles at 25mph was boring as fook.
On having a quick look as I put it on the drive and covered the window with a trusty old black bin liner, it looks like the damage is, front bumper, front valance, bottom arm, drivers door dented, rear door dented, glass out of rear door, roof above rear door and possibly bent rear axle.
Shame cos I was really liking the car at the minute.
Gonna have a look when I can be arsed and see if I can be bothered to fix it. It sounds worse than it looks.
