Default RS turbo engine issue, with pics...

Number 1 i think it had lost cylinder compression (this was back in sept 06) and my mate took the head off and said piston was ok etc.

Anyhow she has been in storage since and not really thought about her.

Yesterday i popped in to have a look at took some pics for advice.

Valves, i mean there is no holes ?? what do you think?

Pistons with no holes either or any scoring to the bores.

What do you think it was that made her smoke and lose cylinder compression. Headgasket?

I do distinctly remember the turbo chattering not as loud also atfer it happened. I thought it was the turbo at first untill i did a compression
test and a cylinder was down.

Turbo shaft moves side to side a little but not backwards and forwards so i assume she is ok?!

What would be the next step to take now? do you think a new headgasket and she would be ok?

thanks in advance

Carl
