If you can actually find a tint film that lets the same amount of light through as a factory tint then that should be fine. Although finding one like that may be difficult. I went the the lightest tint possible on my Lexus and still got pulled, tested with the light meter and then fined and given 14 days to take it out.

Having said that, it really depends on how strict the police are in your area. Ive known people get away with it for ages, and others get pulled after a few days.
