your rs2k rev counter should work if you are picking up the earth of 1 of the coils as that is exactly how it picks up on the rs2K. i suspect you are using the feed from the secs board onto your new rev counter....?
Don't think its an early one - was done at the start (ish) of last year - loom is all conected as per the instructions on Ryans loom
