Right looking into a career change as i hate my job especailly the permanent nights i have to work

So looking into plumbing or electrician as both seem to be fairly secure and demand seems high and only getting worse by the looks of it.

Have no experinece of either apart from bit of diy around the house but can turn my hand to most things fairly quickly and more often than not am quite competent in them to.

Like the idea of doing something different every day as in not the mundane production line jobs i'm used to.

Had a look at a few courses etc etc.

So for BOTH fields wot qualification's are needed to be competent and m,ake a career out of them. ??

All mention city + guilds various levels etc but which level would experienced ppl say is needed.

Potential earnings ??

Is private sector or commercial better ??
