Fear not!!, you will NOT have done any damage.
It slows down and can even prevent proper running in of components if using a real good quality oil like fully synthetic when engine is new, always use a MINERAL oil for the first few miles up to say 10,000, before even thinking of a synthetic as modern oils are so good there is virtually no running in needed.
On new engines I am at full throttle by 500miles for short burts, but normal(lead foot) driving by 1000 miles.
