No point in recording the footage to a tape, that they will steal if they break in.
thats why you put a dvr hidden, or in a metal cabinet somewhere out the way. And don't use your PC to record on. Also anyone using CCTV for in house protection would be better getting an intruder alarm first. One they set this off they won't have time to look for a DVR.
