Some of my previous policys have mentioned on the certificates that i was covered to drive any other vehicle not belonging to me but no mention about it being insured by the owner, was informed though that my fully comp insurance only covered me 3rd party for someone else's car !!!

I drive that many different cars i wasn't prepared to take the risk of not being covered in someone else's car i opted to go for a motor traders policy and now i know for sure im fully comp in any car i drive whether its insured by the owner on not

Traders policy was a lot cheaper than my normal policy was for a single car so worth looking into if you drive other folks cars i would say.

Covered on any car up to the value of 50k, no restrictions and covers bikes as well, my car policy was around £300 ( Mondeo ST220 ) and my bike insurance was just over £600 ( 2004 1000RR Fireblade ), got the traders policy for just over £600 and have my wife on it as well.
