Launch control can be good if you require standing starts for anything. If set-up correctly it can benefit 2WD as much as 4WD (remember you can adjust what rpm and boost is given).

It was set-up on the HYDRA ecu on my Subaru and we were testing set-up of it at Donington the other week. Unfortunately 1bar of boost (thats just over 400bhp / 430lbft) at launch, on a greasy up-prepped surface didn't go down very well with traction.

Depending on how agressive you want this.... you may need a box, diffs and driveshafts not made of chocolate. Stick the Newage STi Subaru running gear in your Ford if you want something to take the abuse.
