yip it really is that easy. As above you will need to press Fn + another key to activate the VGA connection, if you continue to press this combination you can flick between laptop screen only, TV screen only or Laptop and TV screen together.

The other button you need to press usually has a little square or some sort of meaningful icon on it to show its a a screen. IF you can't find it read your manual as it will tell you in there.
