Not true, the twin plate fitted to my car will take repetitive launching and 800ft/lb of torque but has very nice road manners.
It is true, They will not take lots of slip, Launch correctly and you will have no problems with them, Bodge launch's and you will kill them.

says it all , did not realise how easy they were to kill until i had a chat with rod at brunters,it was to late by then the plates were cooked ,at least its not a big job taking my gearbox out is now a service job lol

If you can launch correctly they will last, If you get lots of slip then you need to cool them down and dont do it repetedly.
