I have to say (and i never thought i would say this) I am going to do some testing and I may downsize my brakes. I use the 380's on the front and 330's and AP 4 pots on the back.
I may go down to 330's and 4 pots on the front as well, simply for the weight saving.
I do like the fact that with the 380's and 8 pots it stops unbelievably well, better than any other setup i have had and my brake upgrades on the front of my car have been:
Standard Esc Cos - std rear
300mm disks with Hi Spec 4 pot callipers - big rear disks, std callipers
330mm disks with AP 4 pots - big rear disks, std callipers
356mm disks with AP 6 pots - 330mm with AP 4 pots
380mm disks with Brembo 8 pots - 330mm with AP 4 pots
But there is no getting away from the fact that the bigger they are the heavier they are as well. Gareth Lloyd runs 330mm disks and AP 4 pots all round and nobody questions his racing abilitys and he uses bugger off great 250mm wide slicks.
Mind you i think his car handles that well and he is such a good driver that he don't have to bother slowing down. The last thing I want is brake fade, having the 380's gives me sooooo much confidence as I know it will ALWAYS stop.
