If the car's otherwise sound and you like it, then fix it up. If there are other big bills looming, clutch etc then it may be worth your while moving it on.

Might be worth having a good scout around for second hand bits to fix it as cheaply as poss.

As a car that needs work it's pretty much worthless other than breaking it. So it could be more cost effective to fix it and sell it on.
