I have purchased a new car, a mk6 1996 escort 1.8 si zetec.

The problem is that there seems to be a complete lack of power with foot right down on the pedal

I have changed the air flow meter and serviced the car and replaced the HT leads (with 8mm silicone megaleads) but it is frankly slow. (A fiesta zetec s completely left me standing when my car has a supposed 0-60 of 9.2 secs)

Do you have any ideas on what the problem maybe?

It is better when you don't have your foot right down on the accelerator but i feel it is a little frustrating!
