at last someone posting on here with some knowledge and common sense as for the car not legally existing till 96, no, it exists when it's built it's registraion date can be ANYTIME later.
the car is a 90/91 model that prob sat in the showroom for 6 years on show.
also as it was built pre 93 it will not need cats to pass the test, good job really as it doesn't have any!

and it wouldn't be the first early saff to be registered a few years later. My own car lives next to one very similar
