Have I fiited my induction kit on my 2.0 DOHC correctly?

I have put it stright onto the inlet manifold as shown here.......



But!!!!! Should it go somewhere in the airbox area, maybe at the entrance to the airbox, pipe that goes in?? Only thing that makes me think this is there is a little round silver thing with a plug coming from it, im sure this seems to have some input to the levels of air going in??
