Default RS Turbo - 12/01

Went to view it on saturday morning and was pretty surprised to see it in this condition it's completely standard and all original.

G reg 90 spec
120k
3 owners
never had a panel (yet )
Early 90 spec
The engine is mint for the mileage, 8am and -1 degrees and fired up off the key with no rattles or smoke and idled correctly, it's just been fitted with a brand new exhaust, cv boots, has had welding on the rear leg and MOT'd for 12 months.
Sadly it's got no service history with the car as it was a farmers but not overly bothered, will try and chase up and see if i can find out anything.

Here's a few pictures as it stands (first job is to remove all the green strips and stickers)

The plan is to strip the engine bay right down as theirs a hole next to the fuse box which is more then likely to uncover a bigger hole once i've had a poke around and the battery tray has surface rust on so that will come out to - i can get both items cheap so they may as well be replaced so it's solid.

I want to get the engine bay painted and slam and front panel - the car has previously flipped a bonnet and lightly marked the scuttle but very slightly so i'll have the panel beater sort that rather than replace the original item.

More body work - back arches - 90 spec front bumper - new black bumper insert - 90 spec red rear decal - clean up standard rear lights and fit new ambers front and side and maybe headlamp protectors.

Then in the bay:- all new

Header tank
Dizzy cap and shield
Leads
Fuel filter
Silicon hoses (black)
Vin plate
Engine bay decal set

Paint engine bay parts:-

Rocker cover - black
Inlet - silver
Charge carrier - silver
strut tops - silver
oil cap ~ header top ~ screen top - silver
throttle bracket - black
wiper motor cover - silver
repaint the turbo and manifold - heat paint black

Then i might change the wheels for a set of 17" rs softspokes and fit a front mount.

That should keep me busy for a bit
