Been in this exact situation myself TWICE and know what you are going though.

My son was born 8 weeks early and was 3lb 2oz when born and 8 weeks in special care.

My daughter was 6 weeks early and was 3lb 14oz when born and 4 weeks in special care.

The nearest special care unit is 18 miles form me but was full so was moved to next nearest 42 miles away.

Was a huge strain working, travelling, worrying. etc...

In the end, all turned out fine for me and hope things do for you mate
