Some food for thought, over here in Victoria, Oz we get third party insurance included in our registration (bit like road tax). We pay around the 200 quid mark a year for it but it means you don't have to have insurance. All well and good until you hit someone and have to take a mortgage out to pay them (you are covered if you hit another human not their property that should read).

However, a number of Muslims don't take insurance out as it is seen as gambling. I hadnt seen this before but I now do. Obviously this wouldnt work in the UK legally as the structure is different to insurance here.
