Well.....was doing a few bits today, fuel filter etc, as a bit of servicing, intending to do that then take it down to Kwik Fit for a new cat.....when I thought I'd investiage the ticking noise from the engine thats been happening for ages.

Took the cambelt cover top half off and , lose as fuck, the belt was almost hanging off....I'm sure its just the cambelt cover thats holding it on! - looks like the idler has died......and to think I've been driving it like that for a good while now, and has been spot on, not that gently either

Sooo, rather than take it to Kwik Fit, I decided it shouldn't be driven anywhere. So for the cost of the cheapest quote I've had for a cat - £180, I can buy a cambelt, idler, fan belt, and a cat off the internet (£60 new!) So busy few days ahead, off work for 9days tho
