It'll be fine as long as you fit a Thermostatic sandwhich plate. The stat opens at about 80°. As Rick said, it does no harm for your oil to be hot, but I found on track mine got to 120° with some abuse. It's great on the road now, haven't really used it on track lately to be able to say what its like, but I know my 19 row job is way over the top!! LOL.
