why can the processor not be upgraded. Do Dell not use a standard motherboard in their ranges. If your motherboard has not got the biggest processor avaliable for it then can you not purchase the biggest processor that'll work with your motherboard ?

Any ideas what the motherboard details are ? Its worth having a look.

I upgraded my Compaq from a 2.8ghz celeron to a 2.8ghz P4, I have the option to go upto a 3.06ghz P4 but couldn't find one at the time. Only reason I found this out was the fact the Laptop manual stated the processors that would fit in my motherboard.
